An exciting part of the preparations for the arrival of Pendle's Panopticon was the creation of a 'Wycoller Panopticon walk', a circular route leading from the Panopticon site down to Wycoller Hall, then up on to the Bronte Way and back to the Panopticon again.
Artist Maria Hayes was commissioned by Land to make a work as a permanent record of the walk and delivered the final piece – in her words, “a mixture of mud, ink and pastels, with some collage" – in October 2004. The work can now be viewed at Mid Pennine Arts.
